A Trade Union’s Position on Pensions (Georgia)

Reacting to the Government of Georgia’s plan to reform the country’s pension system, the Georgian Trade Union Confederation developed its own position on pension reform.

For several months the FES, in cooperation with the German and the European Trade Union Confederation (DGB/ETUC), supported this endeavor by organizing a series of seminars and bringing in pension experts from Europe. On 10 March 2016 the results (which envisage a three-pillar-system) were presented to representatives of the government, employers and media outlets.
