The role of civil society in EU-Armenia Relations

Three years after the Armenian “U-turn” in 2013, Armenia is now negotiating a new agreement with the European Union.

Since the influence of civil society was limited during the run-up to the decision of the Armenian government not to sign the Association Agreement, the main objective of the project is to increase civil society’s role in the present process. The Yerevan Press Club, with the support of the FES, is regularly gathering civil society representatives to discuss recent developments and the challenges for Armenia’s integration perspectives. The project also includes a public component in order to raise public awareness on these issues.
