Invitation to Information and Study visit to Armenia for journalists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland
At the backdrop of global rise of international conflicts and human rights abuses, South Caucasus, its affairs and issues in large part remain marginal from the attention of the European media and policymakers alike․
Since, the 2020 Karabakh War and after Russia’s war in Ukraine, the region has been undergoing crucial transformations. The 3 countries of the region – Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan – are experiencing dramatic political, security, energy and economic shifts in their affairs domestically, between themselves and in relations to the wider post-Soviet and European neighborhoods. The relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan remain an issue of particular importance as intense negotiations on normalization of relations and on Nagorno Karabakh are accompanied by intense military activities and humanitarian crises that hardly make the pages of European media. Not a part of our general knowledge, it is often difficult to fully grasp and report on such complex and sensitive issues.
Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, South Caucasus regional office invites journalists, correspondents, bloggers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland to participate in a study-visit to Armenia to familiarize better with the country’s and region’s issues that are not only topical for the local scene but also consequential for the wider European communities.

The working language of the visit will be English. Please, specify your language proficiency in the CVs so that the organizers will be able to accommodate the group’s needs best.
