Empowerment of Displaced Women - Armenia

We are happy to successfully sum-up our joint project with the Armenian Progressive Youth NGO. The main goal of the “Empowerment of Displaced Women” project was to enable socialization of the displaced women with a particular focus on promoting their economic independence and well-being in the Armenian hosting communities.

As a result of the project, a high number of beneficiaries could find jobs or create their own small enterprises. 50 displaced women aged 18-65 based in 4 different regions of Armenia participated in series of activities, workshops, capacity building seminars, professional trainings and coaching sessions by the employment and entrepreneurship professionals.

Nvard Antonyan – one of the project beneficiaries - learned how to generate a business idea from scratch and how to write a business plan. Acquiring new skills and competences during the project, she established her own sewing company.

Arina Chakmazyan - a teacher from Hadrut – joined the project hoping to improve her employability skills and eventually find a job.  Recently she was admitted to work at the “Poqrik Ishkhan” educomplex.
