Industrial Policy for the Development of Georgia

For the past decade the neoliberal slogan “the best industrial policy is no industrial policy” has prevailed in Georgia. In response the FES, in cooperation with the Center for Social Studies, implemented a project in order to explore the potential for industrial policy in Georgia.

Historical development as well as the current situation were analyzed in order to develop recommendations for investing in Georgia’s industrial development. The project benefitted from the advice of international experts such as Erik Terk from Estonia and Robert Wade from London School of Economics. The study presented to decision makers on 21 April 2016 can soon be downloaded here.
