National Consultation on Climate, Rights, and Displacement

Explore our publication, delving into the complex realities of climate-induced internal migration in Georgia.

By focusing on the selected municipalities of Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli and Adjara (Ninotsminda, Tsalka, Khulo), the publication evaluates the state of internally displaced people, highlights weaknesses and common problems of the policy, and provides recommendations to improve policies supporting „eco-migrants”. Interviews were conducted with the internally displaced people in the targeted municipalities, local, regional, and national state authorities, and international and local non-governmental organizations. The document was developed in partnership with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), the Rural Communities Development Agency (RCDA), and the Church World Service (CWS).
