“Perspectives of Co-Existence of EU and EAEU Integration Processes: The Case of Armenia”

Guided by this maxim, interested people gathered last Thursday, 18 October, to listen to the book presentation of “Perspectives of Co-Existence of EU and EAEU Integration Processes: The Case of Armenia” in Yerevan, Armenia. The event hosted by the South Caucasus Regional Office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in cooperation with the Political Social Association of Armenia featured panelists from institutions from Russia, the EU and Armenia. Highlighting the controversial relation between the EU and Russia as decisive force of EU-EAEU relations, the three panelists and authors of the book – Richard Giragosian, Maria Lagutina and George Vlad Niculescu - discussed the history, current situation and possible future paths of talks and integration processes between the EU and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and emphasized on Armenia as a potential role model for countries like the Republic of Moldovia and Belarus. The presentation was followed by a vivid discussion between the audience and panelists and although the discussion finally did not find the universal remedy for better liaison between the EU and Russia, it accentuated the value of bridge-building projects in present times.
