Problematic Analysis of the Civic Advisory Council as a Mechanism for Citizen Participation - Georgia

In particular, the first part of the study is description of citizen involvement mechanisms defined by Georgian law “the Local Self-Government Code” – the legislative frame and general practice of their use.

The second part of the document is entirely devoted to - the Civil Advisory Council - one of the mechanisms of engagement. Covers both general and specific issues of its functioning, activities, explores their effectiveness, challenges they face, and opportunities that may come their way, as well as provides certain recommendatory methodological guidelines.

It should be noted that this study by itself is unique, as it is the first academic study of this scale that has been carried out in Georgia so far.
